Pastor in Trouble After Allegedly Punching Girl Blind Over ‘Disrespect

A Calabar Pastor, David Nyong Okon has been arrested for allegedly blinding a girl with a mighty punch, because he didn’t like her tone.

David Okon is founder of The God of a Stainless Hand International Church, Cross River.

Apparently, he drove recklessly and almost hit the 19 year old girl and her friend where they stood.

So, she spoke out condemning his driving. He got off the car and punched her in the face, because he didn’t like how she was talking to him, asking her if she knew who he was, regardless.

As she collapsed to the ground bleeding, Pastor tried to flee. Youths gathered and forced him to take her for treatments.

He reluctantly took her to a chemist, they couldn’t help. They urged him to take her to UCTH, where he allegedly abandoned her for two weeks, prompting the family to charge the police to find and arrest him.

According to Cross River Watch, the 19 year old girl, Godsgift Edem Edet will remain blind as surgical procedures couldn’t fix the damages.

The assault happened on May 31st, at Obame Ikoya Street next to Calabar Municipal Council Secretariat.
